At ToothMatters, we understand that your child’s health and well-being is of the utmost importance to you. Their dental health should also make the top of that list!
Our primary paediatric dental focus is to make sure your child stays cavity free! Having healthy teeth and gums starts with implementing a good routine at home. Even as an infant, a routine can start before teeth erupt. After feeding an infant, you can wipe down their gums with a soft wet gauge. This will massage the gum and helps to make sure no food debris sits on the gums or on developing teeth. There are also smaller toothbrushes designed for baby teeth too! Choose the right size toothbrush for you baby, and help them to brush with rice-size fluoride-free toothpaste until they could spit toothpaste out. No matter the age, a good dental care routine can be put in place.
By ages 1 year old or within 6 months of the first tooth eruption, you should bring your child in for their first dental visit. We’ll make sure to keep your child’s teeth healthy by removing any plaque build up if possible and apply 5% high concentration fluoride varnish to their teeth if needed. If the plaque is left there for a long period of time, it can lead to dental diseases (gum disease, tooth decay etc.). We’ll also keep an eye on how your child’s teeth are developing on the continuous visits. The most important benefit is that we will give a lecture on how to take great care of your baby’s oral health based on their needs and answer all your concerns. Parents should be the first and best dentist for your baby! Our support is on giving the best care to you and your family!
